Service scope

VDX Authority provides authenticated storage and controlled replacement of a versioned text document. It does not grant general access to a computer, local files, or external accounts.

An owner grants a named actor and client permission for one document, base version, exact replacement, and expiry. The connected ChatGPT tools do not create owner approvals.

Review and execution

The owner is responsible for reviewing the actual replacement and deciding whether it is appropriate. Documents and agent-generated content can contain errors.

Preview does not change the document or reserve permission. Execution checks current authorization. A committed receipt and matching document readback establish what changed.

An identical retry can return the existing receipt without a second edit. Altering the content does not extend the original approval. Revocation affects unused authority under the service's current transaction rules.

Accounts and permitted use

Use an account and client authorized for the relevant document. Keep credentials private. Do not attempt to access another owner's documents or bypass the service's authorization checks.

Use harmless test content while public onboarding terms are pending. The release candidate is not offered for regulated decision-making, emergency use, or workflows requiring guaranteed availability.

Availability and dependencies

The planned service runs from the operator's PC. It can be unavailable when that computer, its internet connection, the identity provider, or the routing provider is unavailable.

Pricing, availability commitments, support response times, suspension, account closure, export and deletion procedures, and dispute terms have not been established by this draft.
